My name is Veronica C. Rosado Perez. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I grew up in the west coast of the island, in the town of Rincón. At the age of 17, moved to San Juan to do a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design, with a minor in Audiovisual Communications. During my years in college, I worked on several design projects with student-led organizations, initiatives and startups ranging across graphic design, architecture and visual arts. As I was growing professionally, I became a junior designer at MUUAAA Design Studio, a small design agency where I worked with small scale construction commercial projects. Living in San Juan for 8 years and working in Santurce for about two years, increased my interest in urban planning, accessibility, efficiency and mobility in metropolitan areas. In 2018 I pursued an interdisciplinary career path combining the urban and architectural fields, and dealing with questions around smart cities and sustainability.
In May 2022, I completed a dual masters in Architecture and City Planning from the Stuart Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania. My academic chapter concluded with an independent thesis focused on building dismantling and deconstruction systems. Specifically looking into the reusing and recycling of building components through processes of urban mining, disassembling, building maintenance and repair.
My latest interest is to start getting more involved in the fields of design build and construction management. Working alongside contractors, subcontractors, developers and other stakeholders in the AEC industry.
